- The Hyundai Veloster is one rig that I like much more as a production model than I did as a concept. Sounds like you basically love the car, there's some nitpicky things here and there. That's what I was thinking about the headrest, it sounds like what is needed is a left and right adjustment on it, the one in the Elantra Touring SE would do.
- Jun 04, 2012 Yep, when I first paired teh phone it asked to download contacts and worked fine. Here is the excerpt from the AV User's Manual Downloading phone book 1. Touch Contacts on the 'Phone' screen. Touch Download to download the phone. As well as check out users mods to make the Hyundai Veloster faster!
- Sep 29, 2017 Lastly, if the issue is simply that your phone can connect but won’t do so automatically, check to see if your phone has a setting that can be changed for automatic Bluetooth connection. In just about any one of these cases, adjustments are required to your smartphone to determine why the phone won’t connect to your Hyundai’s Bluetooth.
Year | Model | Eligible Multimedia System(s) I was recently messing around with my ringtone profiles and I changed something that I am not sure how to get it back to the way it was.I have a ford with the sync handsfree bluetooth system. I'd prefer to restore it to the prior behavior. Thanks for any help. Ford sync software download. When disconnected from the sync system it would then resume ringing only on the phone as expected.I was playing with the phone the other day and now when I'm driving and receive a phone call it rings on both the phone itself and the bluetooth system in the car as well.Does anybody have any idea what I have done to make this happen. When I used to connect up my phone to it and would recieve a call it would ring through the car system only and the phone itself would remain silent. |

2017 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport are now being built with both CarPlay and Android Auto support and will arrive at dealerships soon. All other 2017 model Hyundai vehicles with eligible Display Audio or Navigation systems include both smartphone integration solutions from launch.
“We are very pleased to be able to expand the availability of multimedia system updates to the owners of these additional vehicles,” said Barry Ratzlaff, executive director, digital business planning and connected operations, Hyundai Motor America. “Delivering the update through the MyHyundai.com owner website has proven to be an effective way to support Hyundai owners.”
This is not the first time Hyundai has made a software upgrade available using the MyHyundai portal. In 2015, Hyundai became the first automaker in the world to offer Android Auto and in May 2016, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integrations were offered as an upgrade for eight existing models via MyHyundai.com. Hyundai continues to offer a customer-focused user experience by leveraging the MyHyundai.com platform. MyHyundai.com gives customers the option to update their cars for free and on their own schedules.
To complete the software upgrade, owners need their VIN number and the SD card from their Navigation system. MyHyundai.com has installation guides to walk customers through the process. Consumers can access to do-it-yourself installation videos. The videos can be found on MyHyundai.com and the Hyundai USA YouTube channel and include detailed download and installation instructions on the software. How-to-use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto videos also are available on MyHyundai.com and the Hyundai USA YouTube channel.

Apple CarPlay
HYUNDAI ADDS APPLE CARPLAY SUPPORT TO 2016 SONATA
CarPlay is the smarter, safer and easier way to use an iPhone® in the car and gives users the features they want such as Phone, Messages, Music and Maps, while allowing them to stay focused on the road.
CarPlay delivers an instantly recognizable experience to iPhone users that will help them be instantly familiar and comfortable inside their Hyundai. CarPlay support lets drivers make calls, get directions optimized for traffic conditions, listen to music and access messages. With CarPlay, Siri provides drivers an eyes-free experience by responding to requests through voice commands that are easily and directly accessed through the steering wheel’s voice button. Using a Lightning connector, CarPlay works with iPhone 5 and newer models running the iOS 7.1 or higher operating systems. The CarPlay roster of supported apps can be found at the following link: http://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/.
Android Auto
HYUNDAI RELEASES DO-IT-YOURSELF INSTALLATION FOR SMARTPHONE INTEGRATIONS ON SEVERAL EXISTING MODELS
Similar to CarPlay, Android Auto helps keep drivers’ eyes and attention on the road by integrating the advanced driving-related functions of the user’s smartphone with the familiar centralized screen, physical controls and microphone of their car. Furthermore, the smartphone’s screen becomes “locked,” so drivers are not tempted to look down and interact with their phones directly, while Android Auto is in use.
Owners will need the Android 5.0 “Lollipop” operating system or later and the Android Auto companion app on their compatible phone to utilize Android Auto. A micro USB cable is required to connect the phone to the car’s USB port. The first time an owner plugs his or her phone into their parked compatible Hyundai, the phone will prompt the download of the Android Auto companion app from the Google Play store. Users of Android Auto will instantly recognize familiar Android phone applications, such as Google Maps, Google Now, messaging, phone calling and Google Play Music. These applications can be controlled by voice, steering wheel controls and touchscreen. Android Auto will also offer many popular third-party audio apps, including iHeartRadio, Spotify, TuneIn, NPR, Stitcher, Slacker, Skype, TextMe and many more.
Eight-Inch Navigation System
Hyundai’s eight-inch navigation system offers an enhanced display and home screen that shows map and music information, regardless of the music source.

Remote features can be accessed via Hyundai’s smartphone app or Web portal. Blue Link also features maintenance alerts and safety features, such as Automatic Collision Notification and SOS. The Blue Link system uses a 4G connection. The Blue Link Connected Care package includes safety and diagnostic features and is standard for one year on equipped models.

I vaguely remember my android working just fine, but not the sIPhone I have had links up properly with the Bluetooth. It might work for a week but then when you try to connect it, it freezes the whole entertainment system thinking it's in a phone call. Only way to fix is to shut whole car off. I don't keep Bluetooth connected because of the freezing phone call issue and the audio Bluetooth is horrible, degrades the music quality so much.

This is something that has happened a couple times to me, but if I drive my car someplace that's around or over an hour away, when I go to drive home, the Bluetooth doesn't work very often. If someone calls me, I can answer but we can't hear each other. I only have this issue if I've been driving for a while (I live over an hour away from any town large enough to have more than a Walmart), and at the beginning of driving, it works fine. Since it's an 'intermittent issue' they tell me that there is nothing wrong.
